What is OpenFastDL?
This project is going to give all source server administrators an alternative for hosting own download space only for custom maps. Our FastDL is free for everyone, feel free to use it.
Where are the FastDL files located?
How can I add maps/materials/models/sounds?
You open a new thread here with the suggestion tag and provide a direct download link for me to get the map. I accept other download sources as well as long as there aren't too many maps (don't post 3+ maps without direct link to maps, GameBanana is fine). You can also provide the file yourself by uploading it somewhere, e.g. mediafire.
What games are supported?
We currently only support Source Engine Games like TF2 or CSS. Basically all games are supported for which we have content on the fastdl.
Where is your server located?
The fastdl server is located in middle Europe, be aware of this when you choose OpenFastDL as your fastdl server.
Can I trust OpenFastDL?
All files get scanned before they get added to the database and the only person that has access to that file database is me. I can't guarantee you 100% safety, nobody can do that, so you have to decide yourself if you trust this free service or not. It comes as it is.
I'm a maps/material/model/sound creator and I don't want my map/material/model/sound to be included here. What can I do?
Just give me a heads up at info@openfastdl.net with your (user-/nick-)name/alias and a list of maps to be removed (and possibly some proof that you in fact are the creator of these files) and they shall be removed. If you are fine with public exposure you can open a new discussion here as well.
Why is my map/material/model included without my permission?
I do my best to respect authors wishes with every suggestion that comes in, but sometimes it's not even possible to determine even a trace of that, so if you have complaints see above.
How can I contact you?
